As an artist and story teller, I am committed to bringing art to my community. If you have stories or ideas about how to be a community based artists I would very much like to hear them.
To date I have done the following to try to build this dream;
1. Keep original art affordable and accessible -
2. Have weekly classes year round that build on both conceptual skills and perceptual visions
3. Developed 2 day intensive workshops to provide a means for working folks who would like to communicate visually to learn skills,
4. Built on line forums for sharing art, ideas and readings
5. Paint portraits of the people in our town and their stories
6. Gallery with space and supplies for folks to try art before making the huge investment for supplies
7. Invite groups in for 'freebees'- girlscouts school groups doing sessions in art and Japanese culture and language
8. Listen to and paint the stories of the lives in our town
